Electromagnetic Testing

The Electromagnetic Test method involves the application of electromagnetic energy to evaluate the condition of a test object.

The energy interacts with the material and a snapshot of the interaction process is analyzed to evaluate the condition of the material. There are several techniques within this method: magnetic flux leakage, microwave, and eddy current testing. 3angles applies eddy current testing in several applications.

Examples of inspection applications where eddy current testing is applied by 3angles are on the automated inspection of generator retaining rings (AIRR) where eddy current probes work in conjunction with ultrasound probes to inspect retaining rings. Other applications are generator dovetail slot inspections and piping/tube inspections.
